There is no general answer to this question. Every piece is unique and there are a lot of different factors like style, size, amount of detail that come into play. If you're interested in getting tattooed, please fill out a tattoo request form so we get more information about the piece you're looking for and will be able to give you a price frame for your individual project.
  • get a good night's rest

No, please do not use any numbing cream before your appointment. Numbing cream is a vasoconstrictor (the narrowing of blood vessels by small muscles in their walls) and depletes blood cells to the area.  This changes the texture of the skin and can compromise the outcome of the tattoo. It also makes it harder to tattoo which will result in the tattoo taking longer. We do have numbing agents that we can use during the tattoo process to help with the pain which don't affect the tattooing or healing process.
  • Allow a minimum of 2 weeks for your tattoo to heal
  • Do not re-bandage your tattoo
  • Wash your hands before applying any aftercare products
  • Do not rub, scratch or pick at the tattoo
  • Do not expose the tattoo to sun while healing
  • No swimming, soaking, steam rooms or excessive sweating while healing your tattoo
  • Be sure that clothing and bedding touching your tattoo is clean
Your tattoo may bleed a bit at first but it will stop within a couple of hours. Keep the tattoo bandaged overnight or for at least two to five hours after leaving the studio. If the bandage sticks to the skin, soak the area with cold water until the bandage loosens, then remove carefully. Once the tattoo is exposed, wash it carefully in cold water, gently applying mild soap with fingers (never use a cloth) to remove all surface blood. Rinse with cold water, pat dry with a clean towel and air-dry for 15 minutes. Gently and sparingly apply a thin layer of aftercare cream/ointment. Repeat 3 or 4 times a day for 7 to 10 days. After which time, a plain unscented lotion should be used daily until completely healed. After 5 to 14 days, the tattoo may start to peel or scab (this is normal - like a sunburn). DO NOT pick or peel the skin away. Let it fall off naturally during washing or application of aftercare. Fresh skin will soon replace the dead skin. Colors may appear faded during this time, but will return when healing is completed. After several weeks, all scabbing will be gone, but the area may still be sensitive. Continue regular cleaning and application of a plain white lotion. Once healed, keep sun exposure to a minimum. Always use a sun block (at least SPF-30 sunscreen that provides UVA and UVB protection). Please contact the studio if you have any questions or concerns regarding healing your tattoo.
